Tim joined Community Energy Plus as a Director in 2009 before being appointed as Chief Executive in January 2013.
As Chief Executive his primary goals are to work with communities to effectively meet the growing challenges of a changing climate, and to ensure the world is a safe place for his grandchildren.
Drawing upon over 20 years of experience in charity administration and management, Tim brings high-level strategic and operational insight to shape the development and delivery of Community Energy Plus’s services.
A Member of the Institute of Leadership and Management (MInstLM), Tim has a PhD in Political Science, an MSc in Social Research and a BSc (Hons) in Politics.
Senior Project Manager

Laura manages the energy advice team and co-ordinates the delivery of our energy advice projects, including our Big Lottery Funded Energy Wise Project, Winter Wellbeing, Healthy Homes, Healthy People, Community Energy Switch and our Community Oil Buying Club. She also plays a key role in the development of new and existing projects and commercial services.
Laura initially joined Community Energy Plus in 2009 in the role of Communications Manager, bringing with her more than seven years experience of working on a broad portfolio of consumer, business to business and public sector clients.
In addition to her role as a senior project manager, she is also responsible for the planning, development and delivery of marketing communications for Community Energy Plus across our broad range of services.
Laura has a BA (Hons) in Public Relations and has completed NEA’s Energy Debt in the Community training.

Adrian joined us in February 2014, from a background in waste management and sustainability.
As one of our team of qualified energy advisers, Adrian staffs our Freephone energy advice line and also works on a number of projects including Cornwall’s Winter Wellbeing programme and our collective oil buying and energy switching initiatives. Adrian will be delivering Big Energy Saving Network workshops for householders and front line workers this winter.
He has an M.Chem. (Hons) in Chemistry and a City & Guilds Level 3 in Energy Awareness 6281-01.
Energy Wise Caseworker (part time)

Phill works on on Big Lottery funded Energy Wise project, providing advice and support for vulnerable households to escape the misery, anxiety and ill-health caused by fuel poverty and cold, damp homes.
He joined the team in January 2018 but previously worked for many years as an energy adviser on our Freephone advice line.
Phill holds a City & Guilds Level 3 Award in Energy Awareness 6281-01 and has completed NEA’s Energy Debt in the Community training.
Community Engagement Worker

Mel works as a Community Engagement worker on our Healthy Homes, Healthy People Project. This role sees her going door-to-door in targeted deprived Cornish communities to help householders save money and access a broad range of projects and services provided by Community Energy Plus together with other local and national organisations.
Mel holds a City & Guilds Level 3 Award in Energy Awareness 6281-01 and has completed NEA’s Energy Debt in the Community training.
Project Development Officer (Cornwall New Energy)

Graeme joined in December 2018, and assists businesses in realising their renewable energy aspirations by working with them to secure finance to allow their plans to proceed. He supports the growth and adoption of renewable energy in Cornwall by helping businesses to develop and implement solutions.
Graeme will be using his skills from running his own business and project management gained from a broad base of the engineering, construction and marine industries.
He has a Bsc (Hons) in Renewable Energy & Carbon Management from Plymouth University and City & Guilds in Engineering.
Energy Wise Caseworker

Karen uses her energy, drive and technical knowledge to help vulnerable households in Cornwall escape from the misery, anxiety and ill-health caused by fuel poverty.
She has almost ten years’ experience of providing phone-based energy advice for Community Energy Plus and in the last three years Karen’s role has broadened significantly and she helped to shape and deliver our in-Home Advice, Hand-holding and Advocacy services. This includes our Big Lottery Funded Energy Wise Project which she now works within as a caseworker.
Karen has a BA (Hons) in Geography and Environmental Studies and a Diploma in Domestic Energy Assessment, a City & Guilds in Energy Awareness and Renewables and an NVQ in Providing Energy Efficiency Services. She is also a qualified Domestic Energy Assessor and Green Deal Assessor.
Karen has participated in NEA’s Energy Debt in the Community training.
Sustainable Energy Technical Officer (Associate)

Jonathan uses his renewable energy expertise to provide technical support to the businesses being supported by the Cornwall New Energy project. His experience includes renewable energy site assessment and resource evaluation, the selection and recommendation of appropriate renewable energy technologies, coordinating and assisting in the collection of evidence in support of planning applications and other consent processes and researching new technical solutions and business growth opportunities including energy storage.
Jonathan’s qualifications include a BSc in Renewable Energy and Foundation degree in Renewable Energy Technologies.

Hugh joined the team as an Energy Wise Caseworker in February 2018. As one of our team of qualified energy advisers, Hugh will be using his skills to provide advice to people in Cornwall with their energy related issues. He is working on Community Energy Plus’s Energy Wise project and delivering Big Energy Saving Network workshops for householders and front line workers this winter.

Sustainable Energy Technical Officer

Marc joined us in August 2019 and provides carbon and energy-related consultancy and diagnostic advice to SME’s and renewable energy project development in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
An experienced electrician who retrained to follow his passion for renewable energy technology and its role in resolving the climate crisis, Marc has worked in a number of project management, engineering, research and technical development roles for renewable energy installers and developers in the South West and Lithuania.
Marc has a MEng (Hons) in Renewable Energy Engineering from the University of Exeter and an FdSc in Renewable Energy Technology from the University of Plymouth. He is a member of The Institute of Engineering and Technology (AIET) and The Energy Institute (MEI) and is working towards becoming a chartered engineer.
Warm Homes Caseworker

Fergus delivers our Winter Wellbeing Warm Home Discount Industry Initiative project in partnership with Cornwall Council. As a Warm Homes Caseworker he provides in-home energy advice to vulnerable householders. His work is targeted towards receiving client referrals from health and social care professionals in Cornwall.
Before joining us in February 2019, Fergus worked as an Operations Executive for a local heating installer where he provided phone based heating and insulation advice and customer service support.
He has a BSc in Renewable Energy Engineering, a Higher National Diploma in Environmental Science and a City & Guilds Level 3 Award in Energy Awareness.
