Dr Tim Jones

Tim joined Community Energy Plus as a Director in 2009 before being appointed as Chief Executive in January 2013.

As Chief Executive his primary goals are to work with communities to effectively meet the growing challenges of a changing climate, and to ensure the world is a safe place for his grandchildren.

Drawing upon over 20 years of experience in charity administration and management, Tim brings high-level strategic and operational insight to shape the development and delivery of Community Energy Plus’s services.

A Member of the Institute of Leadership and Management (MInstLM), Tim has a PhD in Political Science, an MSc in Social Research and a BSc (Hons) in Politics.

Tim currently sits as a member of the Community Energy Practitioner’s Forum, Cornwall’s Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Commissioning Board, the Smart Cornwall Steering Group, Enterprising Leaders Group and Superfast Cornwall’s Environmental Steering Group.


Neil Farrington

Over the past ten years, Neil has worked with communities and businesses to build awareness of renewable energy options and has been responsible for developing and delivering renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in community settings, often supporting a whole village, town or parish to become more efficient.

Neil’s role involves advising on and developing sustainable energy projects. His recent work has centred upon removing the financial barriers faced by organisations who want to install renewable technologies.

Neil is a founder member and director of Community Power Cornwall, a pioneering co-operative to develop small to medium scale community-owned renewable energy installations in communities across Cornwall. He has also played an instrumental role in the development of the Low Carbon Society which is the country’s first local authority revolving loan fund aimed exclusively at providing local community groups with the ability to build renewable energy installations in their local area.

Neil is an experienced project manager, outreach worker, volunteer co-ordinator and environmental trainer, with extensive knowledge of the voluntary and environmental sectors and technical knowledge of energy related issues including climate change, energy efficiency and renewable energy.

He joined Community Energy Plus in 2002 from a background in conservation, wildlife, biodiversity, climate change and sustainable solutions. Neil has a BA (Hons) in Geography and a City & Guilds in Energy Awareness.


 

 

Adrian Ankers

Adrian joined us in February 2014, from a background in waste management and sustainability.

As one of our team of qualified energy advisers, Adrian staffs our Freephone energy advice line and also works on a number of projects including Winter Wellbeing, our collective oil buying and energy switching initiatives and the delivery of the Green Cornwall Show at the Royal Cornwall Show. Adrian will be delivering Big Energy Saving Network workshops for hosueholders and front line workers this winter.

He has an M.Chem. (Hons) in Chemistry and a City & Guilds in Energy Awareness.


Donna Cooper

Donna has worked on multiple projects since joining Community Energy Plus in 2007 and currently works across our Community and Renewable Projects and Energy Efficiency Domestic Projects, where she makes good use of her project management skills.

She has a degree in Human Biology and a PGCE in Primate Conservation. Since being employed at Community Energy Plus, Donna has completed a City & Guilds in Energy Awareness and has achieved a number of ILM qualifications in Project Management, Line Management and Leadership and Coaching.


 

 



Jenny Hannam

Jenny joined us as an energy advisor in February 2014 from a background in sustainable development, environmental impact assessment, biodiversity and conservation.

She has a BA (Hons) in Human Geography, an MSc in Environmental Consultancy a City & Guilds in Energy Awareness and Renewables and uses her skills to help communities develop renewable energy projects and provide advice to householders on energy efficiency and renewables.

Jenny will be delivering Big Energy Saving Network workshops for hosueholders and front line workers this winter.


 

Karen Leach

Karen joined the team as an Energy Advisor in August 2009. She is a qualified Domestic Energy Assessor and Green Deal Assessor.

Karen has a BA (Hons) in Geography and Environmental Studies and a Diploma in Domestic Energy Assessment, a City & Guilds in Energy Awareness and Renewables and an NVQ in Providing Energy Efficiency Services.


 

Jeff Moore

Since joining us in 2008, Jeff has worked in a number of project roles, including a two year secondment to ReZolve where he worked as Programme Manager for the Environmental Skills Network and Training and Contracts Manager, managing a number of ESF funded projects delivering workforce development skills to businesses and employability skills and vocational training to adult learners returning to work.

Jeff has multiple management qualifications, advanced IT qualifications, Carbon Management and Project Management degree modules and is City & Guilds qualified to deliver Information Advice and Guidance.


 

Rob Pickering
Associate Green Deal Assessor

Rob is a qualified Domestic Energy Assessor and Green Deal Assessor. He has an Ordinary National Diploma in Technology, a City & Guilds in Energy Awareness and a Certificate in Counselling Skills.


 

 

Laura Tregonning
Communications Manager

Laura is responsible for the planning, development and delivery of communications for Community Energy Plus. Her role includes proactive and reactive media relations, co-ordinating events, including the Green Cornwall Show at the Royal Cornwall Show, public consultations, launches and planning and implementing marketing campaigns for our broad range of services.  Laura also plays a key role in the development of new and existing commercial services.

Laura joined Community Energy Plus in 2009 with seven years experience of working on a broad portfolio of consumer, business to business and public sector clients for a Cornish PR agency.  She has a BA (Hons) in Public Relations and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.


 

Hayley Uren
Project Manager (Renewables and Communities)

Hayley is a highly experienced adviser and her particular strength is helping the elderly and those with young children to manage their energy needs, liaising with external organisations and local authorities along the way. She draws on over 10 years of experience at Community Energy Plus, where she has fulfilled research, administration and project officer roles. Hayley is currently leading the delivery of our ‘Energy Fit Kitchens’ project.
