Families saving energy and the planet with SEEDS and Community Energy Plus

Friday 28th February will see the SEEDS Project of Falmouth join forces with Community Energy Plus to bring energy saving to families across Falmouth and Penryn. Community Energy Plus’s Rob Pickering will be talking with parents, grandparents and children of all ages about the importance of energy.

Rob will chat through how to identify the best energy deal, how to make savings by changing their tariff or method of payment, understanding the process involved in switching energy supplier, ways of saving energy in the home and much more. Rob and his team will work with SEEDS to demystify what ECO funding is all about and how the Green Deal might help fund improvement measures for family homes. The team will identify where to get help with energy bills and further sources of information to ensure that Falmouth and Penryn families are heating their homes as efficiently and cost effectively as possible in 2014.

“We are really pleased that Community Energy Plus can come and talk to our families.” says Sharon Cooper, Trustee for the SEEDS project, a small charity dedicated to providing environmental education to children currently working out of the Lighthouse Children’s Centre on Jubilee Road every Friday at 10am. “By making energy saving clearer for everyone and talking about the simple changes we can all make we will not only do our bit to save the planet but also save our pennies by not spending them on expensive tariffs and fuel wastage.”

SEEDS is a weekly space for families of all ages to take part in a range of environmental fun activities, indoor and outdoor. You can stay in touch with them on their Facebook page
