Hayle residents generate cash for community facilities by saving electricity

An innovative project launched in Hayle at the beginning of the year is well on the way to reaching ambitious targets for saving electricity, while gaining rewards for the community at the same time. For every kilowatt hour residents in two areas of Hayle – Trelissick and Tremorva – are able to shave off their usage, a donation of cash is pledged to the two community funds. The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) announced on the 18th November 2013 that any development of more than two turbines, or any single turbine over 15m high, will now need to undergo a pre-application consultation with the local community. Community projects supported by Council’s green loan fund

Cash rewards for renewable energy generation welcomed
