Hayle residents learn that ‘Less is More’ as part of slow cooking revolution

19 households from the Tremorva and Trelissick areas of Hayle recently discovered that there really is such a thing as a free meal when they took part in a free slow cooking event. Organised by local charity and social enterprise Community Energy Plus as part of Western Power Distribution’s ‘Less Is More’ project, households living in the two project areas within Hayle were invited to come along and learn about cooking using the ‘slow and low’ method to turn inexpensive ingredients into a feast. …


Open day to promote benefits of community-owned turbines

On Saturday 1st November, Community Power Cornwall will be hosting a celebratory event at the base of the first community-owned wind turbines in Cornwall. The turbines were installed by Community Power Cornwall working with Transition St Goran at Gorran Highlanes in 2011, and have now generated over 1 million kWh, powering the equivalent of 221 UK homes annually.
