Local charity and social enterprise Community Energy Plus has won its battle to find funding to replace a faulty boiler, which left a severely disabled young man and his mother without a heating system or hot water for six months. The young man in question is cared for full-time by his mother at their home near St Austell. Cornish residents have the opportunity to invest in and benefit from local community owned renewable energy generation as Community Power Cornwall has launched its second share issue. Community Power Cornwall is blazing the trail for communities to take an active role in meeting their energy needs through renewable sources, while retaining financial, social and environmental benefits within the county.
