The Community Outreach Team

CEP has a dedicated team who work with Cornwall’s communities at a local level. This Community Outreach Team works to ensure that communities are consulted and that their views are taken into consideration. By talking to people and gaining local knowledge the team ensures that people have some ownership of energy measures in their neighbourhood.
The Community Team’s work is delivered in two main areas. Our Domestic Energy initiatives seek to deliver mostly Energy Efficiency improvements to individual houses. Our Renewable Energy initiatives help community groups access Renewable Energy solutions for community buildings as part of the Local Area Agreement (LAA) and promotes community ownership of Renewable Energy schemes.
Projects include:
‘Climate Change - So What!?’ a climate challenge fund project that provides a series of fun and informative quizzes, talks, lectures and events. Please see the 'Climate Change - So What?' website and the Defra's Climate Challenge website for more information.
Kyoto in the Home (KITH) is a European funded project, working with 12 other partners developing renewable energy teaching tools for schools.
ASPIRE (Achieving Sustainability in Peripheral Regions of Europe) is another European funded project with 11 partners to develop a delivery plan for creating sustainable energy communities in peripheral areas.
If you would like any further information about any of these projects email amy@cep.org.uk or alternatively call (01209) 614973.
